5 months ago, Taal Volcano erupted. The disaster has heavily affected the properties, livelihood, and living conditions of the residents and businesses within the 14-kilometer radius of the volcano. During that tragedy, children were one of the most vulnerable, thus KLTC, with the help of donors, provided playful, therapeutic interventions for the affected children. When children are stressed because of a natural disaster, they need to play and when they do, they try to make sense of their world. A child’s play is full of meaning, full of learning, and full of significance. Most importantly, play is fun! The main objective of our interventions for both atypical and typically developing children, was for them to learn and heal from stress and trauma through play. With the inspiration, help, and guidance also from CreateCATT, we used Developmental Play techniques in dealing with the kids. The video shows snippets of the Group Developmental Play sessions that we provided for the affected children–even non-KTLC kids. In the video you will see how much fun they had and how grateful the children and their families are from the interventions they received. 🙂 And because we received more than enough donations, we have extended our program to also support the children who have not received interventions because of the COVID lockdown. Since April, KTLC has been providing free online Developmental Play Sessions. To God be the GLORY! To the individuals and organizations who helped us and our cause, thank you so much! We couldn’t have done this program without you. God bless you all for your generous and compassionate hearts!
Love, KTLC
